photometadata.net is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We may also take part in similar affiliate programs with other retailers from time to time.
How affiliate links work
When a page recommends a piece of gear — a memory card, a filter, a privacy accessory — the link to buy it may carry a tag that tells the retailer the visit came from us. If you go on to make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be without the link; the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
Affiliate links are marked in the page's code as sponsored and nofollow, in line with search-engine guidelines, and the sections that contain them say plainly that they are affiliate recommendations.
What this does not change
This is the part that matters. Commissions never decide what we recommend or what we write. We suggest a product only when it is genuinely relevant to the page you are reading, and we would recommend the same things if there were no commission at all — the free, open-source, and buy-nothing options are given the same honest weight as anything with a link.
Every guide is written to be completely useful even if you ignore every affiliate link on it. The tools on this site are free, the how-to steps cost nothing, and no answer on the site is gated behind a purchase. Affiliate income helps keep the site free; it does not shape the advice.
